We are Trish and John, and thank you for visiting our Maine Coon Cattery website. It has been a joy to have these amazing Maine Coon cats as part of our family here in Western Michigan (USA). When we started Giant Gems Cattery, our goal was to produce the best purebred Maine Coon kittens any person could ever adopt. We have focused on reproducing the best temperament and personality, while maintaining the top priority towards health and overall wellness. Our kittens come with a 2 year genetic health guarantee, have been thoroughly Vet checked, have received their first shots, and have been wormed on a regular basis. The care we take in breeding to create the best Maine Coon kittens is only matched by the thorough socialization we give each of them after they are born.
How have we specifically achieved this high standard?
All of our breeding cats are DNA tested. They must achieve a perfect DNA score (N/N for all mutations) in order to be considered a breeding cat. Then as each kitten socializes with our family we take note of which of them have more extroverted characteristics (higher levels of playfulness, natural curiosity, affection, boldness, as well as the natural born cuddlers). It has taken a lot of time and money to find the best breeders, but we believe that’s what it takes to breed the best of breed. The kittens that are not suited for breeding, they are spay and given up for adoption into great homes as family pets. But for those Maine Coons that are chosen as our breeders they become members of our family, sharing our home with multiple children, grandchildren and various other animal companions.
Yes, it can get a little crazy at our home with all these extroverted Maine Coons cats, but we find them continually entertaining as well as perfect room mates.
